My privacy commitment.

What I collect

Most of this site collects nothing at all. There are no trackers, no advertising pixels, and no analytics that follow you. Data is collected in only two places, and only when you choose to use them:

• The mailing list (Module 5 in the Action Center). If you subscribe, I collect your first name and your email address. Nothing else.
• The representative lookup (Module 6 in the Action Center). When you look up your representatives, the street address you type is sent, one time, to the government lookup service so it can find your officials. It is used for that single lookup and then discarded. It is never written to my storage, never logged, and never associated with you.

Two other Action Center tools ask you to type information — the registration status check and the voter registration forms — but that information never reaches me. It is handled entirely by the state of Florida's own systems, directly from your browser. I do not see it, receive it, or store it.

Where it is stored

The only user data I store is the email address and first name of people on the mailing list. Those records live in Cloudflare KV, a key-value store hosted in the United States. They sit on infrastructure I control directly. No third-party marketing platform, email service provider dashboard, or customer-data tool holds a copy.

The address you enter for the representative lookup is not stored anywhere — not in Cloudflare KV, not in a log, not on my side at all.

Who sees it

Only David Sherrer, the site operator — me — can see the mailing list. No marketing vendors. No data brokers. No advertising partners. No one else has access to the stored email addresses.

What I never do

I will never sell, rent, trade, share, or disclose your data. I will never use it for any purpose beyond what is stated in the module where you gave it to me — sending you lagoon updates, or performing the single representative lookup you requested. There is no secondary use, no profiling, and no onward transfer.

How to delete your data

Every mailing-list email includes a one-click unsubscribe, which deletes your address immediately. You can also email me at hello@irlfacts.org and ask me to remove you. I do same-day removal. There is nothing to delete for the representative lookup, because that address was never stored in the first place.

The transactional mail vendor (Resend)

To send the confirmation email and any list updates, I use Resend, a transactional email service. Resend receives your email address for the sole purpose of delivering the message to you, in line with their terms of service. They act as a delivery pipe, not a marketing platform: they do not use your address to market to you, and they are not permitted to sell or share it. Resend retains delivery metadata for a limited period for operational and deliverability purposes, per their published retention policy; I do not use Resend to build audiences or run campaigns beyond the lagoon updates described here.

The government API vendor (Google Civic Information API)

The representative lookup uses the Google Civic Information API, a government-data service. When you run a lookup, only the address you enter is sent to that API, and only at the moment of the lookup, so it can return the officials for your location. It is never stored on my side. The request happens through my server, which forwards the address to the API, returns the results to you, and keeps no copy.
